Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to share an important update regarding our breakfast club provision from Term 5. We are delighted to announce that our school has been selected as part of the second round of pilot schools to deliver the Government’s free breakfast club offer. This is a fantastic opportunity for our school community.

Our current paid breakfast club will continue to operate from 8:00am to 8:30am at a cost of 50p per session. From 8:30am, the school will open its gates to all children for our FREE breakfast club.  There will be no charge for this 30 minute session.  

We are currently finalising the logistics for this new offer, but in essence it means that every child will have access to breakfast and supervised care from 8:30am each day.  We will share further details later this term, including any small changes to morning entry routines.

At present, we have an average of 80–100 children attending our paid breakfast club, and our normal gates open at 8:40am for the rest of the school. Under the new arrangement, the gates will open 10 minutes earlier, at 8:30am, allowing children time to enjoy a nutritious and healthy breakfast before going to class for the same soft-start, nurturing session that is already in place.
