Resilience Reps

Today Mrs Berry led an assembly for children in Year 3, 4 and 5 about an exciting project.  Bournville, along with other schools in ELAN will be taking part in Resilience Rep training in Term 5.

30 pupils will join pupils from Mendip Green to receive a days training in being a resilience Rep.

What is a resilience rep?
Anyone in Year 3-5 can apply to be a Youth Shoots Resilience Rep.

If you’re chosen, you will join Youth Shoots for a day’s learning on:

Mental Wellbeing,

The Impact of our Behaviours,

Digital Resilience,

Healthy Relationships

Self-Care and Building our Future Selves.

By the end of the day you’ll understand:

  • how to open up the conversation on emotional health and wellbeing,
  • resilience and coping strategies,
  • how to promote and develop self-confidence,
  • the impact that behaviour choices have on yourselves and others,
  • how to navigate safely in all aspects of your lives, including internet safety.

We will be building a team of youth leaders who will be able to support their peers using the strategies they have been trained in.

What next?

If your child wants to take part in this project, they will have brought home an application form.  They will need to think about and answer the 4 questions and return their form to the office.  We will then review the applications and select the 30 children who will take part in the training.

The deadline for applications to be returned is Wednesday 22nd April.

We look forward to receiving their applications.  Should you have any questions please speak to Mrs Berry on the gate.
